"Dr. Sal Ferrantelli is a superb multi-dimensional artist that has shared his musical treasures with us without restraint for over thirty years making it a better world through music."
"Dr. Sal Ferrantelli was my first college choral instructor at Monterey Peninsula College and I had the privilege of being one of his first students when he joined the MPC faculty in 1981. He inspired my singing, particularly when we sang a recital together back in those early days when he had the fortitude to learn a duet in Polish – Offenbach’s Barcarolle, no less! I remember Sal always saying to me that he knew that one day that he would have a book on his shelf written by me. I’m proud to say that he inspired not just my singing, but my love of languages and fed my appetite for knowledge. He made everything about music fun while planning deeply rooted seeds of knowledge that in my case grew to earning multiple degrees in voice, French and, finally, a PhD in musicology.
Thank you, Sal, for being a great teacher, not just to me, but to the many students whose lives you have enriched with your great love and devotion to music through your singing, playing, composing, arranging, and conducting. Singing in your choirs gave me and so many others that wonderful experience of being a part of something that was greater than all of us. Your humility and great appreciation for all the accolades and the high standard you always strive for made it worth it. I’m delighted that I was able to enjoy it for a few years – all the best."
